Have you ever noticed how Paul interacted with the people of Athens? He encountered people who did not believe in the God of our salvation. He took advantage of the opportunity to teach them about Yeshua, Christ Jesus.
He didn’t do as many Christians do today, allow his passion to confront them in anger and spiritual arrogance. He didn’t tell them how stupid, silly and foolish they were to believe as they did. He didn’t try to bully them into believing.
Paul reached out to them in respect and love, acknowledging that they sincerely believed in something, and he wanted to present to them the only Living God…
Acts 17:22-30 (NKJV)
22 Then Paul stood in the midst of the ]Areopagus and said, โMen of Athens, I perceive that in all things you are very religious; 23 for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription:
TO THE UNKNOWN GOD.
Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you: 24 God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. 25 Nor is He worshiped with menโs hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. 26 And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, 27 so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; 28 for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, โFor we are also His offspring.โ 29 Therefore, since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and manโs devising. 30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent,
Of course there were some who mocked him, but others believed and wanted to hear more.
If Paul had approached them as many do today his message of salvation would not have been received by those who had a heart and mind to do so.
Do you know any spiritual bullies?
Have you ever encountered one?
Are you one?
We can’t force our faith on anyone.
We can’t allow our passion for Christ as an excuse to be self-righteous, spiritual bullies.
We must always reach out to others in love. Rather than convert sinners and those who believe in other ‘gods’ we will turn them off and confirm every negative impression they have of disciples of Christ.
Ask God each day for the anointing to share your faith and the wisdom to reach out in His Spirit of love.

This is not scientific or philosophical, but it is God breathed. And, there is some degree of randomness as it is for the most part stream of consciousnessโฆ
More and more people are falling into modern, popular culture pantheism. They are replacing God with โThe Universeโ.
โThe universe will bring it to you.โ
โThe universe is on your side.โ
โThe universe will judge you.โ
“The universe has heard you”
“The universe sees you”.
This doctrine is straight from the devil (who loves the fact that many don’t believe he exists).
In short, rather than acknowledging the one true, living and sovereign God, these people say everything is determined by the natural laws and natural order establishes and โmaintainedโ by โthe universeโ.
And, there are some who try to actually give the universe โconsciousnessโ. However, they donโt even imply that God is the universe, but that the universe is God.
God created the universe..
Hebrews 11:3 (NKJV)
3 By faith we understand that the [a]worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.
Even Hebrews Chapter 3 says, โthe worlds were framedโ.
God is an eternal, invisible Spirit. Quite frankly, He is not an โold, bearded, grey-headed white dudeโ.
Colossians 1:15 (NKJV)
15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
John 4:24 (NKJV)
24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.โ
Romans 1:20 (NKJV)
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and [a]Godhead, so that they are without excuse,
Science contends that the universe had a beginning. God had no beginning. Yes the bible says, โIn the beginningโ for our benefit to reference when God began His relationship with our perception of reality and man, but an eternal God needed no beginning. It that was so, what happened before the beginning.
If the universe had to have a โbeginningโ, by what or whom did it begin?
The universe is not alive.
The universe doesnโt have a will.
Hereโs the problem, science and our ability to learn and draw conclusions from what we learn is only as good as our ability to understand.
Even the brightest human minds are incapable of understanding the infinite deep knowledge of God, or even the universe.
In fact, I define science as our attempt to give a physical explanation to the spiritual.
Think about this, God is has not beginning and has no end. He cannot be created or destroyed. Sounds a lot like the Law of Thermodynamicsโฆ
This law states that energy can neither be created nor destroyed,
but can only be transformed or transferred from one form to another. sounds a lot like God doesnโt it?
Science looks for planets similar to earth that can sustain life, but God can create and sustain life that can live in -200 degrees below zero and breath methane gas if He so desired.
Science, philosophy and all this worldโs knowledge will never be able to understand the mysteries of the universe, and definitely will never understand the wisdom of Godโฆ
8 โFor My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,โ says the Lord.
9 โFor as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts
People think there is no God because they feel earth is too small relative to the entire universe. But, if God chose to have life on a million planets, that would still be small relative to the entire universe. The fact is that ten million light years away, God is still God.
And, just as you canโt see the internet, but can be โonโ the internet in your Tennessee, while millions of others are on the internet all around the world, while someone else is on the internet in space, God can be everywhere at the same time.
Iโm saying all that to say this. God is alive and He is bigger than the universe. It takes just as much faith to believe in โthe universeโ as it does to believe in God.
Just open your heart and believe.
1 Corinthians 1:25-31 (NKJV)
25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 26 For [a]you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many [b]noble, are called. 27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; 28 and the [c]base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, 29 that no flesh should glory in His presence. 30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from Godโand righteousness and sanctification and redemptionโ 31 that, as it is written, โHe who glories, let him glory in the Lord.โ

Gods’ wisdom sometimes just makes me have to sit back and say, WOW!
Worship is an act of reverence, adoration or homage. It’s an act of humility. It’s acknowledging that someone or something is greater than you or has power over you.
God is constantly showing his power and judgements throughout the earth. The problem is that many people don’t attribute those events to the One and only true and living God, the Lord God of Israel from Everlasting to Everlasting.
Remember how the children of Israel placed the blood of an innocent lamb on the doorposts of their homes? This was an act of obedience and worship. If they didn’t do it, their firstborn would not have been spared, and if an Egyptian family had done the same thing, maybe their firstborn would have escaped the death angel.
Even when unbelievers ‘shelter in place’ or ‘social distance’ themselves during a pandemic, hide in the basement from the furiosity of a intense tornado, flee inland during a catastrophic hurricane or typhoon, or escape to higher ground during a ravaging flood…they are reacting to and unintentionally acknowledging God’s power, sovereignty and judgment by their actions. Hiding, running, escaping are all acts of humility towards something that is greater and more powerful.
In a busy world that’s becoming ‘smaller’ through technology. In a world that has an ever increasing number of people who claim or live like there is not God. God, the Father of our Lord and Savior Yeshua the Messiah (Jesus the Messiah) knows how to make everyone slow down or stop…and acknowledge Him.
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

We live in a highly interactive world. Everyone has a platform, especially through social media, to express themselves. We interact with one another in our families. On your jobs. In our schools. As the bible says, โas we go out and as we come inโ, we are almost always interacting with someone.
Whoever is reading this is interacting with me right now. What Iโm writing right now may be foolishness to you. You may consider it stupid. You may consider it offensive. If so, after reading you have a choice. Do I respond? Or, do I just move on? And, thus to the crux of my short message hereโฆ
When you hear something. When you read something. When someone comes โhead onโ to you with something that you consider FOOLISHNESSโฆwhat do you do?
Some foolishness would die if we would just allow it. While other foolishness is like a spark ready to spread like wildfire.
How do you know?
Well, you have to pray for discernment. Discernment is an aspect of wisdom, and God will grant it in abundance if you ask Him.
James 1:5 (NKJV)
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
Notice how sometimes Jesus responded to those who opposed Him, and sometimes He was rather assertive.
Matthew 15:1-12 (NKJV)
15 Then the scribes and Pharisees who were from Jerusalem came to Jesus, saying, 2 โWhy do Your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.โ
3 He answered and said to them, โWhy do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition? 4 For God commanded, saying, โHonor your father and your motherโ; [a] and, โHe who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.โ[b] 5 But you say, โWhoever says to his father or mother, โWhatever profit you might have received from me is a gift to Godโโ 6 then he need not honor his father or mother.โ[c] Thus you have made the commandment[d] of God of no effect by your tradition. 7 Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying:
8 โThese people draw near to Me with their mouth,
And[e] honor Me with their lips,
But their heart is far from Me.
9 And in vain they worship Me,
Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.โ โ[f]

The purpose of this quick post isn’t to discuss whether or not the church will still be on earth when it takes place. But, what will it actually be. This could be a long post, but I’m going to keep it short so you can digest it…and pray about it.
There are those who talk about a chip being implanted, a bar code that will be required for buying, selling and living everyday life. There are others who speak of a literal mark or tattoo on the hand and forehead. How many warnings have you heard in sermons or seen posted on social media or in sermon?
I say neither. That’s too simple. That’s too literal. Check out this verse…
Jeremiah 31:33 (NKJV)
33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
Notice that God says, “I will put My law IN their minds, and write it ON their hearts.”
If you take an x-ray, will you find actual words written on your brain or heart? Of course not.
When God places something in your mind, it affects your thinking. When He places something in your heart, it affects what’s most important to you.
John told us that the spirit of the antichrist was already here way back then…
1 John 4:3 (NKJV)
3 and every spirit that does not confess that[a] Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.
The spirit of the antichrist has been at work for years affecting how Christians ‘do things’ and ‘think’. Convincing us to compromise when it comes to our Lord and Savior Yeshua, Jesus Christ.
Here’s a quick example…think about Easter. What does the name ‘Easter’ have to do with Jesus? Nothing. What do bunnies and eggs have to do with celebrating His resurrection? Nothing. But, you can’t convince well-meaning Christians to celebrate without calling it Easter because it has been to deeply ingrained in the way they ‘do things’ and the way they ‘think’. Why not celebrate His resurrection without calling it by a pagan goddess’ name?
Think of all the ways that the enemy is convincing the people of God to compromise.
Think of how the thinking of this world is changing to accept what God has forbidden.
It’s not what you accept on your skin…it’s what you accept within.
Think about it.

How many times has this happened to you?
Someone did something to hurt you, but felt genuinely sorry. It may have been immediately or it may have been much later, but they did feel bad about what they did, said, didnโt do, or didnโt say. They came to you to offer a sincere apology butโฆ
When they said, โIโm sorry.โ Have you ever saidโฆ
โI donโt want to hear it!โ
โI KNOW youโre SORRY!โ
โLeave me alone!โ
โIโll never forgive you!โ
Did you curse them out?
Did you get loud and try to publicly embarrass them?
Did you you just ignore them. Did you snap back, going through every detail of what happened? Did you throw everything they ever did to hurt you up in their face?
You were still hurt. You were still angry. You were still embarrassed. Your pride got in the way. You were still โin your feelingsโ about what they did. When someone comes to you to apologize the shift in spiritual responsibility shifts from them to youโฆ
Colossians 3:13 (NKJV)

God expects us to always be ready to forgive just as He isโฆ
Psalm 86:5 (NKJV)
5 For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive,
And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You
Sometimes we arenโt ready to let go of our anger, especially if the hurt that was done to us made us feel weak, vulnerable, stupid or naรฏve. Retaining our anger and withholding forgiveness can actually make us feel stronger and in control.
Hereโs the thing. We all know that apologizing is not an easy thing to do. We have to swallow our pride. We have to humble ourselves. We have to confront the person we have hurt. And, we know that we may sometimes meet resistance.
Think about Joseph in Genesis (Chapters 37-50). His brothers not only despised him, plotted to murder him and sold him into slavery. Later God elevated Joseph and placed him in position to save their lives. They were afraid of how Joseph would reactโฆbut he was READY to forgiveโฆ
Genesis 50:19-21 (NKJV)
19 Joseph said to them, โDo not be afraid, for am I in the place of God? 20 But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive. 21 Now therefore, do not be afraid; I will provide for you and your little ones.โ And he comforted them and spoke kindly to them.
Joseph saw the big picture of how God not only allowed the hurt and betrayal, but worked it out for the good of everyoneโฆ
Romans 8:28 (NKJV)
28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
So I encourage you todayโฆ
Be ready to forgive. I know itโs not easy, but itโs situations like this when Philippians 4:13 is most powerful in our lives.
Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)

However,
Thoughts and prayers should also LEAD to wise, God ordained action through the prayers. God is a God of action, through praying people…

14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, โDepart in peace, be warmed and filled,โ but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
To many people, that’s all it is, a nice platitude…the right thing to say at the time.
Too many people say it, but don’t pray.
When and if they do pray, are they praying according to God’s will, or for Him to act according to theirs?
When they do pray, are they praying in humility, or telling God what to do?
When they pray, do they really have faith and believe?
James 1:6 (NKJV)

We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).
ย We have all done some things of which we are ashamedโฆat least I hope so.
Why?
Because our shame is what leads to godly sorrowโฆwhich leads to true repentanceโฆ
2 Corinthians 7:10 (NKJV)
ย For godly sorrow produces repentanceย leadingย to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.
ย Remember that repentance isnโt simply just asking God for forgiveness, but a made up, resolute mind to completely turn from the sin that weโve committed or have been practicing. Repentance according to Strongโs Concordance literally means โa change of mindโ. All sin, no matter how spontaneous, begins with a thought.
Repentance is a legal U-Turn in your mindโฆ
God wants us to REPENT and not REPEAT!
So, itโs good when we have regret of what we did. In fact, weโฆ

Praise is so powerful. And, Iโm not talking about using it as a tool of manipulation to get God to bless us, but Iโm talking about a powerful way to BLESS HIM.
Psalm 34:1 (NKJV)
I will bless theLordat all times;
His praiseshallcontinuallybein my mouth.
Yes, God wants to be blessed by us, just as much as we want to be blessed by Him. How can you bless God who has all power, possesses all things and has control of all things? The same way a baby blesses a parent when he or she reaches up to them.
Why does a baby reach up to his or her parent?
To get their attentionโฆ
To be picked upโฆ
To be huggedโฆ
God wants our affection. Our affection is a blessing to Him. Every parent wants to be โloved onโ by their children.

A few years ago I regularly volunteered at a rescue mission. While there, I worked closely with the Pastor who over saw the location. As I watched him, there were some occasions I thought his temper was too short and he was too harsh. Of course there were many people there who needed help, but he would daily encounter people who were trying to take advantage of the system, harm other residents, or didnโt appreciate the help they were getting. I didnโt know the Pastor when he first started his jobโฆhow hopeful he was to make a differenceโฆhow passionate he was for those who were in need, but it was clear that dealing with negative, evil people had since hardened his heart.
There have been times that I willingly bought food for people in need on the street, but other days, because of people who were clearly trying to take advantage of my kindness, tried to ignore those who are in need.
Jesus made a powerful prophecy for the last days. He prophesied that BECAUSE of evil, the sincere love of many will grow cold.
Matthew 24:12 (NKJV)
12 And because lawlessness (sin) will abound, the love of many will grow cold.
Has negativity, dysfunction, racism, violenceโฆevil ever made you angry?
Do you have a family member or friend who has given so many chances to change that you donโt feel sorry for them any more?
Has being mistreated made you feel justified in disliking, or even hating someone?
When people seem to confirm negative stereotypes, does it push you towards racism?
Have those who abuse systems designed to help cause you to lose compassion for those who are truly in need?
Have you found yourself to love less? Be careful, because it can lead to being loveless.
The devil wants to use the evil in the world to harden your heart. He wants to find the right button(s) to press to make you the mirror image of that you see as evil.
Please donโt let allow the bad in the world to harden your heart.

Relationships make our lives richerโฆ.better. God created us because He wanted relationship with us.
As our relationships evolve, whether it be marriage, parent/child, siblings or friends…we are also all evolving as individuals.
For example, If you’ve been married any number of years, then neither of you are the same people you were when you first married.
The truth is some things get better, and some things don’t.
There will always be some things, attitudes, behaviors, moods, etc., that you hate about those who you love most….it doesn’t mean you hate them.
In fact, daily living and loving beyond those things is what makes it love.
Think about God…do you think He is always pleased with you?
Are there ways He is still expecting you to change?
Even at our best, we donโt measure up go Godโs level of righteousnessโฆ
Isaiah 64:6 (NKJV)
But we are all like an unclean thing,And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away.
Itโs only through Godโs abundant grace and mercy that we are able to be in His Holy presence.
Thatโs why His gift of justification is so valuable, and should never be taken for granted. Even though we are unrighteousโฆthrough the blood of our Lord Jesus, we are โcounted as righteousโ.
Romans 3:23-25 (NKJV)
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed,
Just as we donโt measure up to Godโs standardโฆWe disappoint each other because at times donโt measure up to one another’s expectationsโฆwhether reasonable or unreasonable.
Just as we continue to disappoint God in our individual relationships with Him, we will continue to disappoint one another in our relationships with each other.
As years go by, even though we grow to know one another better, there will still be things about each other that โdrive us up the wallโ…things that ‘drive us crazy’.
Think about some things that you hate about those people who are closest to you.
Does it mean that your relationship is flawed?
Well, yes it doesโฆbut so is your relationship with God.
But, just as God loves us through our flaws, He expects us to love one another through ours as well.
So, the next time your notice your husbandโฆwifeโฆparentโฆsisterโฆbrotherโฆfriend doing something you donโt like…or even hate, after all these years rememberโฆ
Theirs something they canโt stand about you, and…
It makes your relationship normalโฆnot over.
Love each other through it, just as God loves you.

Some people have even murdered and claimed that they did it for love. Itโs even stated in the lyrics to one of Al Greenโs most popular songs,โLove and Happinessโโฆ
โLove will make you do wrongโ.
Well as much as I enjoy Al Greenโs music, I have to say that he was wrong about that.
Just as the enemy wants to pervert everything else holy, he has been oh too successful perverting how we often define or misdefine ย love โ prompting people to justify much of their wrong to โdoing if for loveโ.
โGod is loveโ is more than just a simile. God literally IS pure loveโฆ

One day a man who had been walking, catching rides and using Uber to go to work every day was given a car by a family member. He was so thankful. All he had to do was have a few things fixed. As he drove it home, he stopped to get gas and the car wouldnโt start. Wow! He had to have the car towed to the shop. After they fixed it, as he drove it home he let the window down and it wouldnโt come back up. He said, โAre you serious!!!!โ
As he drove back to the shop so they could fix the window he noticed stains on the seats.
He then immediately remembered that he had transportation to work, the store or to take his lady friend out on a date. He also remembered the fact that the price he paid for the repairs was still better than having a car payment for years. He immediately thanked God and asked him to forgive him for so quickly allowing frustration to take away the excitement of his blessing.
So many times God will bless us and if itโs not exactly the way we wanted it or comes with some imperfections, inconveniences or responsibilities, we can find ourselves with an unthankful attitude.
The bible reminds us that every gift God gives is perfectโฆ
James 1:17 (NKJV)

The next time you begin to see stains on your blessings, remember that every gift from God is perfect.

โI think Iโll relax and study my bible over a glass of wineโ.
Uh oh! Iโm quite certain that statement made many of my fellow Christians cringe. Iโm sure it may push limits of some peopleโs personal theologyโฆmany of my fellow Christians will quickly tell you that you shouldnโt defile the temple of God (and we shouldnโt).
Many of my fellow Christians will piously tell you, โOhhh no! I donโt drink alcoholโ, while at the same time many of the same people consume huge amounts of sugar, fat, sodium, artificial ingredients, smoke, over-the-counter and prescription drugs etc., etc., etc., that they know are harmful to their bodies, or temples of God (1 Corinthians 6:19).
Many Christians whoโve been diagnosed medical conditions knowingly eat foods and drink beverages that even though they arenโt wine, are harmful to their bodies and adversely affect their healthโฆbut, they would never be CAUGHT drinking a glass of wine.
Yes, the bible says that we are NOT to โget drunk with wineโโฆ
Ephesians 5:18 (ESV)
18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit,
โฆgetting drunk is a sin and a work of the fleshโฆ
Galatians 5:20-21 (ESV)
20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
HOWEVER, there is a huge difference in DRINKING a glass of wine and getting DRUNK with wine.
1 Timothy 5:23 admonishes us that there are health benefits to consuming a LITTLE wine in moderation.
1 Timothy 5:23 (ESV)
23 (No longer drink only water, but use a little wine for the sake of your stomach and your frequent ailments.)
Drinking wine is not a sin, but drinking too much isโฆ
Drinking cola isnโt a sin, but if itโs detrimental to your health, drinking too much isโฆ
Eating candy isnโt a sin, but if itโs detrimental to your health, eating too much isโฆ
Eating is not a sin, but eating too much isโฆ
Philippians 3:19 (ESV)
Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things.
Being at a gathering where thereโs wine is not a sin. There was wine at the wedding Jesus attended in Cana recorded in John Chapter 2. It was real wineโฆnot unfermented wine as some try to claim to justify their over zealousness. Wine was a staple in the bible. Jesus was observed consuming wine because they accused Him of being a โwinebibberโ, drunkard and a glutton. (However He did not get drunk)
Matthew 11:19 (ESV)
The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, โLook at him! A glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!โ Yet wisdom is justified by her deeds.โ
Wine was consumed during the Passover Feastโฆthe fact is that when the wine ran out during the wedding, Jesus โboughtโ the drinks. Jesus didnโt say, they have wine at that wedding party, so I wonโt attend, but thatโs exactly what many Christians today would say.
Again, Iโm not advocating getting drunk. Getting drunk IS a sin. But I am saying that wine, just like many other food and drinks is okay in moderation, and many Christians who โtripโ over drinking a glass of wine consume non-alcoholic foods and beverages into their bodies that are harmful or in quantities that are SINFUL.
Remember what the Apostle Paul saidโฆ
1 Corinthians 6:12
โAll things are lawful for me,โ but not all things are helpful. โAll things are lawful for me,โ but I will not be dominated by anything.
1 Corinthians 10:23
โAll things are lawful,โ but not all things are helpful. โAll things are lawful,โ but not all things build up.
I must be responsible and tell you that if you have a drinking problem, that itโs BEST THAT YOU CONSUME NO WINE, just as if you have an allergy to peanuts itโs best you CONSUME NO PEANUTS. Also, if your drinking wine makes someone in the faith weaker, itโs best that you donโt drink it in their presence. Read Romans 14:13-23 as Paul explains how we must consider those who are weaker in the faith in things that are permissible for us.
The most important thing for us to remember as Christians is MODERATION โ ALL THINGS IN MODERATION.

How does it make you feel to see someone who has hurt you….hurt?
We must be careful that we donโt wish evil on our enemies or adversaries. Remember that itโs bigger than our disagreement, or even the fact that they may hate us for no reason.
They are Godโs creation too.
They were made in His image too.
God doesn’t love your enemy ANY LESS than He loves you.
He wants them delivered too.
When something bad happens to them, sometimes we find ourselves saying, โGood, thatโs what they get!โ
When we judge in our hearts that they are getting what they deserve, we are setting ourselves up for the same judgment.
Remember Matthew 7:1,2โฆ
โJudge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.โ If you continue reading, Jesus uses strong words here calling us hypocrites when we do this.
Stop and think about the things you have done to hurt someone else. Think about who you may have mistreated.
Think about the fact youโve given some of your โhatersโ a good reason to feel โsome kinda wayโ about you.
Most of all, think of how youโve hurt God.
Psalm 103:10 is a good reminder that God doesnโt deal with us as we deserveโฆ.
โHe has not dealt with us according to our sins,
Nor punished us according to our iniquities.โ
We should extend to one another the same grace and mercy thatโs given to us. Rather than celebrate your enemyโs misfortune, we should pray that it brings them closer to Our heavenly Fatherโฆbecause ultimately, thatโs what God wants.
2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you,[a] not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

We all notice the unmistakable silence of Yeshua, Christ Jesus from 12 years of age until 30.
Luke 2:41-52 (NKJV)
41 His parents went to Jerusalem every year at the Feast of the Passover. 42 And when He was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem according to the custom of the feast. 43 When they had finished the days, as they returned, the Boy Jesus lingered behind in Jerusalem. And Joseph and His mother[a] did not know it;44 but supposing Him to have been in the company, they went a dayโs journey, and sought Him among their relatives and acquaintances. 45 So when they did not find Him, they returned to Jerusalem, seeking Him. 46 Now so it was that after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions. 47 And all who heard Him were astonished at His understanding and answers. 48 So when they saw Him, they were amazed; and His mother said to Him, โSon, why have You done this to us? Look, Your father and I have sought You anxiously.โ 49 And He said to them, โWhy did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Fatherโs business?โ 50 But they did not understand the statement which He spoke to them. 51 Then He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them, but His mother kept all these things in her heart. 52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.
I have heard and read much speculation and conjecture as to what happened during that time. There are even apocryphal accounts (Book of Thomas) of events that took place when Jesus was young. However, I think there is enough information given to us in Matthew 13 and John 2 to let us know that nothing miraculous happened. That, after amazing the teachers when He was twelve years old, Jesus went back to being an โapparentlyโ very good boy and young man. No Jesus didnโt sin. His โgoodnessโ ( much like Joseph in Genesis) could have led to His brothersโ initial unbelief and antagonismโฆ
John 7:5-7 (NKJV)
5 For even His brothers did not believe in Him.
6 Then Jesus said to them, โMy time has not yet come, but your time is always ready. 7 The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it that its works are evil.
Think about what is reported in Matthew 13 when Jesus was rejected in His hometown of Nazarethโฆ
Matthew 13:53-58 (NKJV)
53 Now it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these parables, that He departed from there. 54 When He had come to His own country, He taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished and said, โWhere did this Man get this wisdom and these mighty works? 55 Is this not the carpenterโs son? Is not His mother called Mary? And His brothers James, Joses,[a] Simon, and Judas? 56 And His sisters, are they not all with us? Where then did this Man get all these things?โ 57 So they were offended at Him. But Jesus said to them, โA prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house.โ 58 Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
…If Jesus had spent His youth sharing His wisdom and His supernatural powers, the people of His town would not have wondered โwhere did this man get this wisdom?โ. They would have known He was unique among His half-brothers and sisters. They would have recognized Him beyond being โJosephโs sonโ and a carpenter. They were around Jesus every day as He grew and would not have been surprised at His wisdom if He had revealed that He was special after 12 years of age.
In fact, this implies to me that Jesus spent His teenage years and twenties doing the work of a carpenter while He and Mary held His divinity in their hearts.
As Jesus said at the wedding in Cana after His first miracle, His time had not yet come. And, yes John Chapter 2 confirms that turning the water to wine was Jesusโ first miracle. So no miracles could have happened before that.
She hadnโt even told her other children about their Holy brother. We all know how hard it can be to hold some things in our hearts. How hard it can be to keep a huge secretโฆespecially one this big.
John 2:1-12 (NKJV)
2 On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. 2 Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. 3 And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, โThey have no wine.โ 4 Jesus said to her, โWoman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come.โ 5 His mother said to the servants, โWhatever He says to you, do it.โ 6 Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece. 7 Jesus said to them, โFill the waterpots with water.โ And they filled them up to the brim. 8 And He said to them, โDraw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.โ And they took it. 9 When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom. 10 And he said to him, โEvery man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!โ 11 This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him.
We all know how the enemy used Herod to kill baby boys Jesusโ age killed trying to prevent the prophecy from being fulfilled. God very well could have been protecting Jesus in anonymity to protect Him and His identity until His time had come.
Matthew 2:16-18 (NKJV)
16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and put to death all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the wise men. 17 Then was fulfilled what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying:
18 โA voice was heard in Ramah,
Lamentation, weeping, and great mourning,
Rachel weeping for her children,
Refusing to be comforted,
Because they are no more.โ[a]
Godโs wisdom goes beyond our desire to know what happened before Jesus began His earthly ministry. As I said earlier, we can speculate and guess, but that is all it isโฆguessing and speculation.
Besides, whatโs most important is what happened after Jesus began His earthly ministry. His occupation was carpenter but His calling and purpose was SAVIOR.
Jesus’ silent years are one of the greatest lessons in the wisdom of God doing all things in HIS OWN TIMING. And, that we should relate this lesson to our own lives. Even the Son of God didn’t begin His purpose before it was time.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NKJV)
To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:
BE BLESSTIFIED!

Does everyone ALWAYS practice what they preach? Do we always hold true to our standards, values, morals, disciplinesโฆall the time? Do we all sometimes have lapses in our character?
Yes!
The apostle Peter was with Jesus from the beginning of His earthly ministry. He was there when Jesus performed miracles. He was an intimate part of Jesusโ inner circle. We all know that he betrayed the Lord, but Jesus warned him beforehand and restored him afterward.
Luke 22:31-34 (NKJV)
31 And the Lord said,[a] โSimon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.โ 33 But he said to Him, โLord, I am ready to go with You, both to prison and to death.โ 34 Then He said, โI tell you, Peter, the rooster shall not crow this day before you will deny three times that you know Me.โ
John 21:17 (NKJV)
17 He said to him the third time, โSimon, son of Jonah,[a] do you love Me?โ Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, โDo you love Me?โ And he said to Him, โLord, You know all things; You know that I love You.โ Jesus said to him, โFeed My sheep.
Peter went on to be used by God to help birth the church, spread the Gospel, perform miracles himself and co-author the New Testament. To say he was anointed and used by God would be an understatement, but he was also far from perfectโฆjust like us.
In fact, Paul(as Saul), who didnโt walk with Jesus. Who wasnโt there for the miracles. Who may have even consented to His death at the cross was also eventually anointed and used mightily by God. Notice what happened when Peter would associate and eat with Gentile believers unless Jews were around…then he would separate himself from them fearing what they would say and how they would react.
Galatians 2:11-16 (NKJV)
11 Now when Peter[a] had come to Antioch, I withstood him to his face, because he was to be blamed; 12 for before certain men came from James, he would eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision. 13 And the rest of the Jews also played the hypocrite with him, so that even Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy. 14 But when I saw that they were not straightforward about the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before them all, โIf you, being a Jew, live in the manner of Gentiles and not as the Jews, why do you[b] compel Gentiles to live as Jews?[c]
Peter was being a hypocrite. Paul withstood Peter to his face, called him out and corrected himโฆpublicly.
I know you are saved and sanctified. I know that you love God. I know that you are devoted to God, but are you a hypocrite sometimes too?
When have you found yourself acting outside of your integrity?
Sometimes publicly.
Sometimes privately.
Sometimes no one knows about it but you and Godโฆbut you do know. Donโt you? You notice it. You think about it. You may even pray about it and ask forgiveness, or you may be comfortable as long as no one else knows.
Iโm not going to go through a list of the possible areas in life that we are sometimes hypocrites, but it could be as simple asโฆyou portray yourself or even brag about being a law abiding citizen, but you sometimes drive above the speed limit.
Thatโs why Godโs grace and mercy should never be taken for granted, because it is impossible for us to totally avoid sin, and hypocrisy is a subtle manipulation from the enemy which we ALL fall for sometimes.
The truth is that even when someone you love or someone you know has a hypocritical moment, you still know their true character…
So, let’s make sure that any lapse in our character is just that…a lapse. Because enough lapses in your character becomes your character.
Letโs hold one another accountable in love.

Has anyone ever embarrassed, hurt or insulted you openly in public?
Have you ever done so?
Have you ever made public some information about someone later to find out that information was wrong?
Have you ever defamed or slandered someone?
For whatever reason, we all openly hurt one another from time to time. Sometimes we do it on purpose, and sometimes it’s unintentional. These ‘public displays of ‘non-affection’ can leave bad impressions and potentially ruin reputations of all parties involved.
Many times when we realize what we’ve done, truly feel sorry and want to apologize. We’ll pull the person or persons to the side and tell them, “I’m sorry… I was wrong”. This is good but not good enough…
Acts 16:37 (NKJV)
37 But Paul said to them, โThey have beaten us openly, uncondemned Romans, and have thrown us into prison. And now do they put us out secretly? No indeed! Let them come themselves and get us out.โ
Those who heard or witnessed the embarrassment may still think you were right. Those who heard or witnessed the insult may still be influenced by what you did or said…that public embarrassment deserves a public apology.
I remember growing up in church that sometimes in testimonies, people would stand before the church and proclaim, “If I’ve ever done anything to hurt anyone here today, I’m sorry”…if you know who you hurt and what you did, this also is not good enough.
If you know that you slapped someone in the face, simply saying, “I’m sorry IF I hurt you” isn’t enough.
If you slandered someone, making a blanket statement to a group that, “If I hurt SOMEONE, I’m sorry” is just not enough.
If you know what you did and who you did it to, then you need to show enough respect to call out their name.
It’s good to apologize, but if we aren’t careful, we can take the easy way out and not fully respect the person or persons that we have injured.
Matthew 5:23-24 (NKJV)
23 Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24 leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.
Don’t take the easy way out with your apology.
